The large names in aerospace have several new designs for the supersonic airliner of the future. Mutually Boeing and Lockheed Martin have proposed ideas for a NASA research mission appears into new airplanes that could take the bang out of supersonic flight.
Pictures of both aircraft on the rampage by NASA show long and slim designs suggestive of the Concorde. However both planemakers maintain to have many updates in an attempt to solve matters that disturb those who dream of Concorde-like speeds once again.
For somebody who ever observed the Concorde in flight, the most understandable place for enhancement was the huge noise created by both the engines and the recognized sonic boom. Nobody has been bright to take the bite out of the boom yet, but both Boeing and Lockheed Martin anticipate to at least put a new muffler on the problem.
The most attractive looking idea is the inverted-V from Lockheed Martin at the conclusion end of its aircraft (above). Part of the idea follo

Both the Boeing and the Lockheed Martin designs leave the engines on top of the wings slightly than below like those on the Concorde. While jet engines are very good at exchanging fuel into noise, the purpose is to have some of that growl shielded from the ground by the wings.
