When you arrive at the airport and panel your flights next year, you'll likely see additional WI-Fi, extra seats with extra legroom, more lie-flat beds, a more speedy security method and, of course, more fees. Also coming in year 2013 are more new aircraft and major airport overhauls, as most airlines are now making profits and rising their capital spending. United Airlines, for example, we can say it neat up neglected airport facilities, such as Washington Dulles International Airport, and add new seats and bigger transparency storage bins to aircraft. New procedures intended at speeding up boarding are in the workings at United, too.
Some of the biggest new changes of the year 2013 for travelers may come at the Transportation Security Administration. TSA is pushing to enlarge the ranks of "trusted travelers" in 2013, and Administrator John Pistole says the organization will study fresh ways to get people enrolled in the "Pre-Check" expedited-screening program. This moves travelers, who have undergone backdrop checks and finger printing into "old-fashioned" screening lane where you can put down your shoes and jacket on, leave your laptop and liquids in your bag itself and walk through a metal detector rather than a body scanner.
