Boeing 787 First release postponed Again


Boeing proclaimed the delivery of the first 787 Dreamliner to start customer All Nipon Airways will be postponed until the middle of the first quarter of 2011. In a report released Thursday night Boeing said, “the release date revision follows an appraisal of the availability of an engine needed for the concluding phases of flight test this fall.” The reports comes after a Rolls Royce test engine botched earlier this month.

The Rolls Royce Trent 1000 is one of two engine choices for airlines purchasing the 787 Dreamliner all along with the General Electric GEnx. While be experienced on a test stand in England, the Trent 1000 practiced an “uncontained” failure meaning parts of the engine were expelled beyond the fairings that are planned to keep engine parts controlled in the event the engine comes apart.


The Rolls Royce Trent 1000 is the engine of alternative for launch customer ANA. Preceding month, following workmanship matters related to the horizontal stabilizer on the 787, Boeing said the liberation of the first 787 could slip into the first few weeks of 2011.

With the addition of the engine breakdown experienced by Rolls Royce, the company says it will now be standard way through the first quarter of 2011 before ANA obtains the first 787 to be delivered for customer service.
