About $170 million dollar were offered to the buy Southwest Frontier Airlines

Southwest Airlines had announced that it has offered over $170 million to buy the Frontier Airlines in a bankruptcy auction, which is approximately a 50 percent enhance over its initial proposal of $113.6 million.

Southwest is now competing with Republic Airways, which had originally offered $108.8 million. In a statement said that, the Southwest said a bankruptcy auction in New York would start soon. Frontier filed for bankruptcy was in April 2008.
