 
GSM (Global System for Mobile communications ) is the most standard one for mobile phones in the world. This promotes, the GSMto estimates that 80% of the global mobile market uses the standard. GSM is used by 3 billion people across 212 countries and territories. Its frequently makes the international roaming common between the mobile phone operators, enabling the subscribers to use their phones in many parts of the world. GSM differs from its predecessors in that both signaling and speech.
The ubiquity of the GSM standard has been an advantage to both consumers and also to the network operators. GSM also pioneered a low-cost preference to voice calls, the short message service (SMS), which is now supported on all other mobile standards.
Another advantage is that the standard one includes worldwide Emergency number such as 112. This makes it easier for international travelers to connect to emergency services without knowing the local emergency number.
